We sadly had to send our 13 year old lab over the rainbow bridge . The Doctor was professional and compassionate and helped her cross with no pain or fear. Thank you very much. Would definitely recommend this service for your family.

This is long overdue…. On New Years Day 2023 I woke up at around 8am to find that my beautiful big black 7 yr old German Shepherd Kaia, who had been sick for the last few months, was seriously ill and slowly starting to pass away in front of me. Needless to say I was in a panic, and didn’t even know what to do. Aside from having to quickly make the decision that this was it and I can’t have her die on me like that, I called around to any in home services I could find in midst of all these emotions. No one was picking up. It was 815 on Jan 1. Finally, Dr Bekhit picked up. He could here the anguish in my voice. I don’t even remember what I said to him in between my crying. But he could sense that Kaia needed him and he just calmed me down and said ‘I’m off today, but I’m packing up my things and will be there in 45 minutes..”. He dropped everything he was doing to come all the way to my place (which was not super close). As soon as he arrived he said that Kaia was definitely suffering and was in a lot of pain. He did his procedures and realized it was time to say goodbye. This was my best friend for 7 years. I couldn’t believe I was saying goodbye to her and touching her for the very last time. Dr Bekhit administered the first shot and then the second. Kaia was gone. But thank god for Dr Bekhit because she got to die in peace, with dignity, and more importantly on her bed and in my arms. I was the last voice she heard and the last touch she felt. I couldn’t imagine if he hadn’t come and I was alone having to watch her suffer at a loss as to what to do. Thank you Dr Bekhit. I am forever grateful for you!

As difficult as such a decision is, the best option for saying a gentle and kind goodbye to our beloved pets is via at home euthanasia. Dr. Ash was accomodating and wonderfully compassionate. Gave us all the time we needed. We know our beautiful girl did not suffer long. RIP.

We knew the time to say goodbye to our Linda was coming soon. We had actually planned to bring her to a vet in Richmond hill but plans changed and we missed the appointment. Dr. Ash was available short notice and it turned out being the best option. A difficult decision was made easier knowing that our good old friend didn’t even have to get out of the comfort of her bed. Dr. Ash is a real professional and we appreciate very much his helpful, gentle and informative approach. We are so glad we called him.

It has taken me awhile to write this review, as I was just too emotional. New Years Eve around 10:30 p.m. we had to call Dr Ash. I honestly didn't expect anyone to answer as it was New Years Eve & late, but our Dog Daisy was in so much pain we couldn't drive her to the emergency clinic and we could not wait until the next day. Dr Ash answered on the first ring. He was very compassionate and asked questions. He didn't want her to be in pain all night. He said he could come but could not stay too long after as he needed to get back to his family. I totally understood and was so grateful!!!! He came and did not rush us at all. Either before or after. I am sure he never got back to his family before midnight. We will never forget the compassion & kindness that Dr Ash showed us. Would definitely recommend!!

Dr. Ash was invested in Pumpkin's story, very clear on what was happening asking for consent before each step and allowed us to emotionally handle as we wanted. He was also available on the weekend on call which is a huge saver since I didn't think she'd last the weekend. Thank you Dr.Ash for your time and helping our process with end of life. RIP Pumpkin 💔

Dr. Ash was simply amazing. Highly recommend doing this at home. Less stress on your pet and on you. He was very empathetic, took his time, kept checking in on us before every step. Our Cody was 18 and it was so peaceful. He was also helpful with our puppy, allowing him to understand what was happening. Thank you for everything during this difficult time.

We were very impressed with Dr. Ash and thankful of his assistance during the difficult process of sending our Cooper to doggie heaven. We knew it was time but he provided comfort that this was the right decision and he calmly explained what to expect before and throughout the process. It's never easy but Dr. Ash was wonderful through this terrible time and I would highly recommend him.

In home Euthanasia and grieving in the privacy of your home.

The Euthanasia Procedure.

You will have an awareness of what will happen during this procedure. This will help make the process easier for you.

I will ask you to sign a consent form. this document is important to give your legal permission for me to carry out the euthanasia procedure.

Steps for Euthanasia Procedure:

• Sedation.

Sedation enable the euthanasia process to be as peaceful as possible, This allows your pet to gently fall asleep and prevents any stress

• Clipping and Cannulas.

area shaved, intravenous cannula inserted in to allow a secure channel for injection.

• The Euthanasia Injection.

The euthanasia solution (pentobarbital ) which is a barbiturate anaesthetic.

The pet will be given a concentrated overdose of the anaesthetic,

therefore they peacefully fall asleep and then pass away.

This usually happens quite quickly, often in less than a minute, and many owners are surprised by this. The injection is not painful.

Most owners wish to see their pet’s eyes close but this doesn’t happen in animals;

eyes remain open even after they have passed away.

Spending time with your pet afterwards is usually possible.

Following your pet’s death you may wish to take a lock of hair as a memento

definitely Don’t be afraid to ask for the vet to do this for you – it’s a very common request.

If you have chosen to have your pet cremated, We will arrange this for you with Gateway Pet Memorial and We will take your pet body with me .

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet before in-home euthanasia can be an incredibly emotional and challenging experience. Here are some steps you can consider to make the process as gentle and meaningful as possible:

Firstly

– Choose a Comfortable Setting: Find a quiet and peaceful space where your pet feels safe and comfortable. This might be their favorite resting spot or a cozy corner in your home.

– Gather Loved Ones: If there are family members or friends who share a bond with your pet, invite them to be present for this moment. Having familiar faces around can provide comfort.

Thereafter

– Create a Calm Atmosphere: Dim the lights, play soft and soothing music, or light a candle to create a calm and serene environment. Pets can pick up on the emotional atmosphere, so keeping it peaceful can help them feel more at ease.

– Speak Softly and Comfortingly: Approach your pet gently, using a soft and soothing tone of voice. You can reminisce about happy memories you’ve shared, using phrases like, “Remember when we used to play together?” or “You’ve brought so much joy into our lives.”

– Express Your Love: This is the time to let your pet know just how much they mean to you. Speak from the heart and tell them how grateful you are for their companionship and the happiness they’ve brought into your life.

– Offer Comfort: Pet your animal gently and offer physical comfort. You can hold them, stroke their fur, and reassure them with your touch.

Overall

– Say Goodbye: It’s okay to express your emotions. Let your pet know that it’s okay to let go and that you’ll always love them. You can say something like, “It’s okay, you’ve been a wonderful friend. Thank you for all the love you’ve given us.”

– Express Gratitude: Express your gratitude for the time you’ve had together. Let them know that their presence has made a significant impact on your life.

– Take Your Time: There’s no rush. Spend as much time as you need with your pet, saying your goodbyes and sharing your feelings.

– Final Moments: When the time comes for the euthanasia, continue speaking softly and soothingly to your pet. Be present with them until the very end.

Finally

– Remember that every person and pet is unique, so tailor these suggestions to what feels right for you and your pet. It’s completely normal to feel a range of emotions during this process. Your pet knows you love them, and your presence and care will provide them with comfort and peace during their final moments.
